TOP FEMALE METAL VOCALIST (FOR ME)

STEP FORWARD
10 years and still kicking! First formed in 1995, makes STEPFORWARD one of the longest running hardcore band that ever come out of the city of Jakarta INDONESIA. They’ve been through several changes in their line up, the most recent line up is Jill (Vocals), Chainsawrick (Guitar), Junas (Bass), and Jar (Drums). STEPFORWARD released their debut album titled “Stories of Undying Hope” in the year 2001. Their metal influenced hardcore style has won a lot of hearts during the years of playing live. The stage performance also simply energetic and tight, not to mention the brutal female vocal by Jill is captivating as some say. At the moment STEPFORWARD is in the process of releasing their sophomore album. “The new upcoming album is going to be heavier and more aggresive, yet melodic at the same time” said Chainsawrick the guitarist who also plays in the band SERINGAI. The musical influence on our new material varies from a wide choice of musical genre. “From Smashing Pumpkins to Slayer, from My Bloody Valentine to Old Metallica” Ricky added. The songs’ breakdowns are going to be more significant, and the vocal is also going to be more “growl oriented” compared to the more “punk” style vocal on their first album. The song you hear on the MP3 player right now is titled “Saksi Imaji” and going to be the first single from the new album. The next album is going to be released by PARAU their collectively owned music label who also has released successful other Indonesian independent acts such as SERINGAI, DOMESTIK DOKTRIN, and releases by hardcore group SPAZZ and LOS CRUDOS. “The year 2004 ended in sadness for Indonesia and the world,we hope 2005 is going to be better for everybody” said Jill.

IN THIS MOMENT
Born of a chance meeting and the innate musical rapport established between vocalist Maria Brink and lead guitarist Chris Howorth, In This Moment quickly grew from local cult favorites performing in Los Angeles clubs to a /MySpace phenomenon before landing a deal with Century Media Records. Along the way, the group was fleshed out by rhythm guitarist Blake Bunzel, bassist Jesse Landry, and drummer Jeff Fabb; embarked on several U.S. tours with the likes of Diecast and 36 Crazyfists; and gradually honed its melodic metalcore songwriting for the recording of the 2007 debut album Beautiful Tragedy, which was supported via the band's inclusion in the Hot Chicks of Metal Tour, featuring Lacuna Coil and Within Temptation, among others.
MARIA BRINK ON STAGE
MARIA BRINK IN HER LIFE
Maria Brink is the lead singer of a band called In This Moment
In This Moment is an American Metalcore band formed in 2005. They have released two albums to date, both on Century Media Records. The band's sound is recognizable mainly for vocalist Maria Brink's use of a combination of screaming and clean vocals.

In August 2005, singer Maria Brink and guitarist Chris Howorth met through some common friends. After becoming acquainted, and finding that there was much in common between them, they began writing songs together. Soon thereafter they enlisted the help of Los Angeles drummer Jeff Fabb and formed the band Dying Star. Unhappy with where the band was headed, they decided to take on a new musical direction. By mid-2005, the lineup included Brink, Howorth, Fabb, guitarist Blake Bunzel, and bassist Josh Newell. The band recorded demos and posted them on MySpace, where they generated an internet following. The demos included rough versions of "Ashes", "The Legacy of Odio", "Next Life", "This Moment", and "Prayers", as well as a cover of Slayer's "Postmortem". During the summer of 2005, Newell departed from the band to focus on his other project, Ketaset, as well as his sound engineering work. Producer Pascual Romero (currently in Tinhorn) was then the bassist for a time before friend of the band Jesse Landry was eventually tapped to round out the band permanently. Rob "Blasko" Nicholson, the bassist for Ozzy Osbourne became the bands manager after discovering them through MySpace.

I WRESTLED A BEAR ONCE
Iwrestledabearonce were formed in 2007 in Shreveport, Louisiana as the first in the local avant-garde metal movement (along with such bands as Ballet Brutality and Scared of the Dark).[citation needed] The origin of the band's name was inspired by a comment that Gary Busey had said on Comedy Central. They signed to Tragic Hero Records and released their debut EP Iwrestledabearonce EP through the label. Afterward, attention was caught by a major label, Century Media, to which Iwrestledabearonce signed. The group then recorded and released their debut full-length album It's All Happening on June 2, 2009 in the USA and August 31, 2009 in European stores.

In June through September 2008, their single, "Tastes Like Kevin Bacon" appeared on the Sirius Hard Attack radio station "Devils Dozen" list as high as #4 in the 12 most requested songs.

It's All Happening reached #1 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers chart and #122 on the Billboard 200 chart.[2]

They embarked on their second venture outside of the US in October 2009. The "2009 Imperial Never Say Die" club tour which was sponsored by Imperial Clothing and Jägermeister in the UK and Europe with Architects, Despised Icon, As Blood Runs Black, Horse the Band, Oceano and The Ghost Inside In December 2009 they were headliners in a US/Canada tour (The Tour That Stole Christmas) with Miss May I, Inhale Exhale and Of Machines. Iwrestledabearonce have been selected for the 2010 Van's Warped Tour and will participate from July 20 until August 15, 2010.

During the summer of 2009, the band decided to relocate to Birmingham, Alabama.

In 2010, the band rereleased It's All Happening as a 3-disc special edition that includes the regular album, a remix album, and a DVD.

In November 2010 on their official Facebook profile, they stated they will release a new full-length album on Century Media in 2011. As of November 19, 2010, two songs have already been completed.[citation needed] They have also released a free 5-track remix EP titled It's All Dubstep

LIGHT THIS CITY
A speedy thrash metal band with death metal overtones, Light This City are primarily notable for being one of the only bands in their chosen style with a female lead singer, the dynamic and impressively leather-lunged Laura Nichol. Formed in San Francisco in 2002 while several members were still in high school, the original lineup of Light This City consisted of Nichol on vocals, guitarists Tyler Gamlen and Steven Shirley, bassist Mike Dias, and drummer Ben Murray. This lineup recorded Light This City's debut, The Hero Cycle, but by the time the album was released on the Reflections of Ruins label in the fall of 2003, Gamlen and Shirley had been replaced by Brian Forbes and Steve Hoffman. That lineup of the band signed to the respected metal indie Prosthetic Records for their second album, 2005's Remains of the Gods. Further lineup changes followed after that release, with Dias replaced by Jon Frost and new rhythm guitarist Ryan Hansen taking over for Hoffman. Light This City's third album, Facing the Thousand, was released in the fall of 2006. ~ Stewart Mason, All Music Guide

 ARCH ENEMY
Arch Enemy is a Swedish melodic death metal band, originally a supergroup, from Halmstad, formed in 1996. Its members were in bands such as Carcass, Armageddon, Carnage, Mercyful Fate, Spiritual Beggars, and Eucharist to name a few. It was founded by Carcass guitarist Michael Amott along with Johan Liiva, who were both originally from the influential death metal band Carnage. The band has released eight studio albums, a live album (Burning Japan Live 1999), two DVDs and three EPs. The band was originally fronted by Johan Liiva, who was replaced by Angela Gossow as lead vocalist in 2000.
ANGELA GOSSOW ON STAGE
ANGELA GOSSOW IN HER LIFE
Angela Nathalie Gossow (born 5 November 1974, in Cologne, Germany) is the lead vocalist for the Swedish melodic death metal band Arch Enemy. Her previous bands include Asmodina and Mistress. She is considered to be one of the few successful female metal singers to use growling as her primary singing style. Her main influences are Jeff Walker of Carcass, David Vincent of Morbid Angel, Chuck Billy of Testament, John Tardy of Obituary, Chuck Schuldiner of Death, Dave Mustaine of Megadeth and Rob Halford of Judas Priest

 WALLS OF JERICHO
Detroit, MI's Walls of Jericho weren't just noteworthy because they were a metalcore band with a screaming female on vocals. They are also worth remembering because they adeptly balanced old-school hardcore, thrash metal, and "chugga-chugga" metalcore with a ferocity and dedication unmatched by many of their contemporaries. Containing former members of the band Earth Mover, Walls of Jericho came together in September of 1998 around Candace Kucsulain (vocals), Wes Keely (drums), Chris Rawson (guitar), Aaron Ruby (bass), and Mike Hasty (guitar). They began playing shows soon after, supporting more established bands throughout the Midwest, like Buried Alive, Hatebreed, Racetraitor, Brother's Keeper, and Reach the Sky. Less than a year later, in April of 1999, the band issued a 7" EP through Underestimated, which was followed shortly thereafter by a CD EP containing that 7" and demo tracks, called A Day and a Thousand Years, which was released by European imprint Genet.

A buzz eventually surrounded Walls of Jericho in the international hardcore scene as they continued to play shows in support of their EP releases, attracting the attention of both Ferret and Trustkill Records. They signed a deal with the latter, which resulted in the December 1999 release of their debut full-length album, The Bound Feed the Gagged. The band hit the touring and hardcore festival circuit the following year. In August of 2000 they toured the United States in support of Syracuse, NY, straight-edgers Earth Crisis, melodic Swedish death metal band In Flames, and Oakland, CA's metallic Skinlab. After another spate of touring in 2001, Walls of Jericho lost their drummer to a bigger, more established band. Frustrated by their attempts to replace him, they decided to call it a day; Kucsulain went on to be a body piercer's apprentice, while the rest of the band formed It's All Gone to Hell.

But two years later, Walls of Jericho got back together, reemerging with a new drummer (Alexi Rodriquez, formerly of Catharsis) on board and a newfound energy to create music together. Their next album, All Hail the Dead, appeared in early 2004 through Trustkill, and (as in the past) the band hit the road hard in support. Rodriguez suddenly exited the group that December, but finding a replacement this time around was much easier, as the band looked no further than long-time friend and ex-Premonitions of War drummer Dustin Schoenhofer, who joined in early 2005. A string of shows with Bullet for My Valentine was played in spring 2006, in addition to a Canadian run with All That Remains and Unearth, before the band hit up the second stage of the summer's Ozzfest. Recorded in Cleveland with producer Ben Schigel (Zao, Chimaira), their third full-length, With Devils Amongst Us All, was issued that summer as well.

ARON LEE RALSTON
Aron Lee Ralston (born October 27, 1975) is an American mountain climber and public speaker. He gained fame in May 2003[1] when, while canyoneering in Utah, he was forced to amputate his lower right arm with a dull knife in order to free himself after his arm became trapped by a boulder.
The incident is documented in Ralston's 2004 autobiography Between a Rock and a Hard Place, and is the subject of the 2010 film 127 Hours.

Ralston, a graduate of Cherry Creek High School in Greenwood Village, CO and a mechanical engineering and French student at Carnegie Mellon University, was a member of the honor societies Phi Beta Kappa and Tau Beta Pi. At Carnegie Mellon, he served as a Resident Assistant, studied abroad, and was an active intramural sports participant. He left his job as a mechanical engineer with Intel in 2002 to climb all of Colorado's "fourteeners", or peaks over 14,000 feet high during the winter season. In August 2009, Ralston married Jessica Trusty, and their first child (Leo) was born in February, 2010. He's also an avid Phish fan.

In April 2003, while he was on a hiking trip in Bluejohn Canyon (in eastern Wayne County, Utah, just south of the Horseshoe Canyon Unit of Canyonlands National Park), a boulder became dislodged, crushing his right forearm and pinning it against the canyon wall. Ralston had not told anyone of his hiking plans and knew no one would be searching for him. Assuming that he would die, he spent five days slowly sipping his small amount of remaining water while trying to extricate his arm. His efforts were futile as he could not dislodge his arm. He eventually ran out of water, carved his name, date of birth and presumed date of death into the sandstone canyon wall, and videotaped his last goodbyes to his family.
After five days of trying to lift and break the boulder, the dehydrated and delirious Ralston prepared to amputate his trapped right arm below the elbow in order to escape. Although he never named the manufacturer of the tool other than to say it was not Leatherman, he did describe it as "what you'd get if you bought a $15 flashlight and got a free multi-use tool".[5] After freeing himself, he was still seventeen miles from his vehicle, and he had no mobile phone. He had to rappel down a 65-foot (20 m) sheer wall, then hike out of the canyon in the hot midday sun. While hiking out, he encountered a couple on vacation from The Netherlands, Eric and Monique Meijer, and their son, Andy, who gave him water and then alerted the authorities. He was ultimately rescued by a helicopter search team six hours after amputating his arm. His arm was removed from under the boulder and retrieved by park authorities. It was cremated by Ralston. He then returned to the accident scene with Tom Brokaw six months later, on his birthday, for two reasons: to film the Dateline NBC episode of his accident, and to scatter the ashes of his arm where, he says, "they belong".
